Penning down Prateek's story in my words. He wanted to write something on the occasion of World Book day
RAY
There was a boy who would always talk, talk and
talk
while
reading, writing and while returning home by walk.
This caused problems to others at his school
And at football clubs and at swimming pool.
Ray would never complete his task
Nor allow his table mates to do multitask
But Ray was a very good sport
He Would put all his energy and effort into it
Teacher told him to read and write
Become a boy with future bright.
His is mum told him to learn music
His dad said try being an athletic.
Ray’s trial with music was rather pathetic
He got phobic when trying to be an athletic.
Ray was very upset and sad
But his dad told it was not all that bad.
To cheer Ray dad decided to take him to a match
Exciting and thrilling cricket to watch
Ray was not sure about the rules of the sport
His dad explained all about cricket while
waiting at the port
Ray thought the game was complicated and long
‘No, it’s not’ said dad, it’s fun when all play
along.
To collect tickets at the stadium Roy was in
the queue
The players had not yet been given the cue
Ray with excitement looked for his seat
Dad got him burgers and crisp to eat
Dad was sure that Ray would chit and chat
Instead of watching how the players would ball
and bat.
The game was about to start
Ray was busy with his chat.
Soon Ray got curious about the match
When the player took a wonderful catch.
As the match progressed Roy was fully engrossed
And prayed that his favorite team win with
fingers crossed
The crowd cheered as they moved out one by one
But Roy was all excited to share how his team
won.
Roy ran down the steps to greet and congratulate
his favorite player
But the crowd started to gather around and soon
it got busier.
Ray waited for his turn get players autograph
Dad from the far end managed to get a
photograph.
Ray was full of stories when he returned home
He started telling how the match was awesome.
Mom was surprised to see Ray’s enthusiasm in
the game
And thought Ray would show his interest in
learning same.
Dad thought taking him to a cricket club
As the land he was in is Cricket’s hub
Ray took great interest in learning cricket
Dad thought it was all worth buying the match
ticket.
Ray being an energetic child soon picked up the
technic
The boy turned everyone’s head by hitting a six
supersonic.
Ray was busy not chatting but learning new
skill
He got busy concentrating and observing with
his will.
Ray found his new interest
And was ready to give his best.
